The state of Florida is in the midst of a child pornography investigation after police arrested a former child care provider on charges that he engaged in child pornography.

The arrest came after a search warrant was executed in connection with the child pornography charges, according to the Miami Herald.

Police say the suspect, identified as Michael C. Williams, worked as a registered sex offender.

In the warrant, police said Williams and a friend downloaded images of children under the age of 14.

He also allegedly shared the images with a friend, who posted them on Facebook.

The Miami Herald reports that Williams was arrested on charges of distributing child pornography, possession of child pornography and distributing child exploitation material.

He was being held at the Palm Beach County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
