Lions QB Michael Vick is watching on as the Detroit Tigers win the AFC title with a thrilling 35-10 win over the Chicago Bears.
Vick has been a constant thorn in the Bears’ side this season.
Detroit is now 9-0 in the series with the Bears.
The Bears (7-3) are coming off a win over Green Bay on Sunday night.
Vick threw for 329 yards and three touchdowns, including a 42-yarder to Calvin Johnson that tied the score at 30 late in the fourth quarter.
Chicago was able to keep the ball down and force turnovers on four occasions.
The Lions (5-6) had the best scoring drive of the game on a 13-play, 89-yard drive capped by a 10-yard TD pass to Kevin White to cut the Bears lead to 31-30 with 5:07 left.
The drive stalled and the Bears led 32-29 with 7:02 left in the first half.
Detroit scored on its first drive of overtime to take a 34-34 lead on a 9-yard run by Mikel Leshoure.
The Tigers got the ball back on their first possession on a 2-yard field goal by White.
The first of four field goals by Leshoore gave the Lions a 29-28 lead with 7 minutes to play.
On the next drive, White kicked a 5-yard touchdown pass to Devin Hester with 7 seconds left.
Chicago recovered at the Detroit 1 with 2:42 left.
With 1:40 left in regulation, Leshooses TD pass set up a 5.0-second touchdown run by White, but a field goal attempt by Chicago in overtime put the Bears up 33-30.
Detroit was able hold on for a 33-28 win.
The game was broadcast live on Fox Sports 1 from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
