By now, most of us are familiar with Google’s “career quiz” (or, if you’re like me, “careers” in Google’s jargon).
But, for those of you who have been on the hunt for a career, you may be surprised to learn that Google has a brand new, yet somewhat less flashy, career quiz.
Google’s new job search quiz is free to download and use, and it uses the same basic questions as its previous, less-popular career quizzes.
The most interesting thing about the new quiz is that it uses an AI algorithm that is able to guess at which of the thousands of candidates will ultimately end up with a job.
The algorithm picks the candidates who are the most likely to have a good chance of getting the job, based on their resumes, LinkedIn profile pictures, etc. And the quiz’s creators are working to improve the quality of their answers.
The job search is currently available in the United States and Canada, but Google has said that the company will expand the search in other regions as well.
The new job hunt quiz, like its predecessor, is meant to help you make a career decision.
But its creators say that this quiz is also a way for you to build a sense of how well you fit into your current job, which can be important for career-seekers who want to find a good fit in a particular company.
“The questionnaires are not very accurate at predicting your skills, so you need to figure out how you will be judged based on your skills,” said Chris Zuber, a Google search and career adviser who created the job search for the new job quiz.
“But you need a clear picture of what skills are relevant to your job and what is not.”
It’s not clear if the new career quiz will be available in all countries.
In the United Kingdom, for example, the quiz has been available in Google for just over a month, but the country’s government is considering whether to make it available to the public.
“I think it’s a good example of the power of AI to help us make better decisions,” said Dr. Zuber.
“This is a very useful tool for anyone looking to start a career.”
It is unclear if the job-search quiz will help you find a job, or if you’ll find a better job if you choose one that is less likely to pay well.
If you’re not interested in a career in your chosen field, the new Google career quiz could be a good way to keep track of your career goals.
Or, if it does help you, it’s certainly worth it.
